NDAA and TAA Compliance

If you buy for a public agency, a school district, a hospital or a federal contractor, you have to be able to show where your cameras came from. This page is here so you can answer that without waiting on an email.

NDAA Section 889

Section 889 of the 2019 National Defense Authorization Act bars federal agencies, and the contractors who sell to them, from procuring video surveillance and telecommunications equipment from a named set of companies: Huawei, ZTE, Hytera, Hikvision and Dahua, along with their subsidiaries and affiliates. Most state, education and healthcare buyers now apply the same rule, whether or not federal money is involved.

Multioculus does not sell any covered brand. Our live catalogue was checked against the Section 889 list and against the consumer labels those manufacturers sell under. There are no matches.

The video surveillance brands we carry are:

Brand Origin
Axis Communications Sweden, part of Canon
2N Czech Republic, part of Axis
Vivotek Taiwan, part of Delta Electronics
Digital Watchdog United States

If your procurement team needs this in writing on letterhead for a specific order, ask and we will send it with the quote.

TAA compliance

TAA compliance is decided per part, not per brand, because it turns on where an individual model is manufactured. Two cameras from the same maker can differ.

We do not guess at it. Where the manufacturer states that a part is TAA compliant, it is labelled that way on the product page, and you can browse the catalogue and see it on the listing. Where the manufacturer does not state it, we will ask them for the current country of origin for your exact part number before you order rather than assume.

Buying on a purchase order

  • Purchase orders welcome from government, education, healthcare and enterprise.
  • Tax-exempt orders handled. Send your exemption certificate with the order.
  • W-9 and references on request.
  • Quotes are written to be attached to a requisition - part numbers, quantities, unit and extended pricing, and a ship date.

Availability, in writing

We confirm stock with the distributor before quoting. If a part cannot be had in your timeframe we say so and offer the alternative, rather than booking the order and sorting it out later. A ship date on a Multioculus quote is one we have checked.
